Alonso: The Court denies Plaintiff's motion for entry of default and default judgment [48] as to Defendant No. 1 Rockyee, Defendant No. 5 BetterUS, Defendant No. 11 enenfrane, Defendant No. 9 Douyi E-Commerce, and Defendant No. 17 GuangYun Gonsi as moot. The Court denies Plaintiff's motion for entry of default and default judgment as to Defendant Nos. 4, 6-8, 10 for lack of service, without prejudice. Plaintiff indicates that the extent of its investigation into Defendants' addresses was searching those addresses on Google Maps. The Court finds that reasonably diligent efforts to find a defendant's address require Plaintiff to utilize additional investigative steps, including using other search engines and/or official databases such as Amap, Baidu Map, or Qichacha. See Su v. HHUNSHA, No. 26-cv-4878 (N.D. Ill.) at Docket No. 25. Additionally, where, as here, search results provide an identifiable physical location (for example: returning a match or partial match for the address that an investigator could physically go to, even if the address does not appear to be affiliated with the defendant), the Court finds that reasonably diligent efforts to find a defendant's address require Plaintiff to take additional investigative steps, such as sending an investigator to that location. Id. Plaintiff may renew its motion for default and default judgment against Defendant Nos. 4, 6-8, 10 by 9/25/26. Any such motion shall address efforts regarding service. Plaintiff is reminded that all proposed orders must be accompanied by a redline in accordance with this Court's standing order on Schedule A cases.
